Black Butterfly Women Services provides a safe, healing community for justice-involved women. Black Butterfly’s approach consists of an affordable housing community, meaningful relationships, and trauma-informed supports to assist with successful reintegration into society.
This holistic, evidence-based model breaks the cycle of incarceration, reduces recidivism, improves mental health and well-being, enhances recovery and skill-building, and rebuilds stable, fulfilling lives.
Black Butterfly empowers women to heal, strengthen their connections with family, and transition from dependent to independent while changing behaviors associated with criminal involvement. Each woman who walks through the door of the Black Butterfly House is treated as an individual with unique needs. Our current model is set- up to deeply impact a small number of women in a meaningful way.
“I learned a long time ago the wisest thing I can do is be on my own side, be an advocate for myself and others like me.
